Who we are
TheWeddingDay builds and hosts wedding websites for South African couples. It is operated by Steven Heyns. You can reach us at steven@theweddingdj.co.za.
What we collect
From a couple who signs up: your email address, your names, your wedding date and venue, and the content you add to your site.
Guest details that a couple adds to their own guest list: names, phone numbers, and email addresses. When guests RSVP they may also give a meal choice, dietary requirements or allergies, accessibility needs, a song request, and the town they are travelling from. Dietary and allergy information can be health related, so we treat it with extra care and only use it to run the wedding.
How we use it
We use this information only to provide the wedding website and RSVP service: to show the couple their site, to let the couple invite their guests, and to collect and display RSVP responses to that couple. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Couples and their guests
When a couple loads their guest list, they are responsible for having permission to share those details with us for the purpose of their wedding. We process guest information on behalf of the couple. A guest who wants their details changed or removed should ask the couple, or contact us and we will help.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the platform, such as our hosting and email providers, and only so far as they need it to provide their service. If a couple chooses to pay online, the payment is handled by Payfast and we never see or store card details.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: one to keep a couple signed in to their dashboard, and one to remember the personal RSVP link for a guest so they do not have to find it again. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
A wedding site and its data stay up through the wedding and for a reasonable time afterwards. A couple can ask us to take their site down and delete their data at any time.
Your rights
Under South African law (POPIA) you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email steven@theweddingdj.co.za and we will help.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows when it last changed.
